Sinopsis

Esta es una investigación iconográfica y documental de dos instalaciones del colectivo Troika. La primera, una máquina industrial que expulsa ráfagas de sal, como una cascada o reloj de arena infinito. La segunda, una pantalla que proyecta Terminal Beach, una animación que muestra a un brazo mecánico talando el último árbol de la Tierra.

El libro incluye dos textos esenciales que acompañan las dos piezas. El de Tania Aedo, que es una prosa especulativa sobre la historia de Sal como la épica de la materia mineral y la vincula al extractivismo y la ceguera humana que, al intentar dominar la naturaleza, sucumbe ante ella. Este análisis conecta con temas de explotación y crisis ecológica, relevantes hoy en día.

El ensayo de Irmgard Emmelhainz nos confronta con un mundo apocalíptico situado en una era colonialista y heteropatricarcal, en el que el capitalismo extractivista se convierte en un pensamiento totalitario. Su reflexión crítica sobre el poder y la sostenibilidad aborda problemáticas sociales, políticas y ambientales de interés general.
