Sinopsis

Descifra en clave de género la relación entre el joven pintor y la mujer más retratada de la época. Se apoya en diversas disciplinas para entablar un diálogo entre los personajes y sus representaciones para analizarlas como documentos autónomos, testimonios visuales con vida propia. Elige como antecedente genealógico el primer retrato que Soriano hace de Lupe Marín en 1945 y dos autorretratos del pintor adolescente realizados en 1934 y 1937 respectivamente. Encarna un soliloquio, cuyos componentes visuales increpan estereotipos a través de claves cifradas con las cuales se cuestiona la norma de género restrigido.

El juego de espejos entre las obras resulta al desmontar no sólo el sustrato hermético que contiene la cartografía de las imágenes sino la vida que entretejió sus destinos en una ciudad que buscaba como ellos, ocupar un lugar en la modernidad. La tríada visual vislumbra la presencia de elementos yuxtapuestos en reverencia mimética: ella, figura mitológica en la vida cultural de México y él, un pintor que en su juventud perteneció a la generación de jóvenes artistas que se alejaron del muralismo para buscar su propia voz. Este texto contribuye a la construcción de puentes entre disciplinas e imágenes para descifrar un diálogo encriptado a partir del cual se configura un nuevo régimen epistémico ontológico que perturba las categorías convencionales de jerarquía y binariedad obligatorias.
