Sinopsis

En 1912 el arquitecto Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) publicó en Chicago un breve ensayo con el título "La estampa japonesa: Una interpretación". Para entonces ya era un prestigioso arquitecto y sus viajes, primero por Japón y después por Europa, fueron dejando un importante poso en su obra. En concreto, la cultura nipona le mostró una vía para desarrollar la relación entre la arquitectura, la geometría y la naturaleza. En pleno proceso de descubrimiento de los valores estéticos de este arte y dentro del influyente movimiento del Japonismo, esta obra muestra el interés de Wright por el grabado popular japonés, en especial por los grandes paisajistas Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) y Hiroshige (1797-1858).
